Compliance

At Teachers Federation Health we are committed to being a good corporate citizen, transparent and fair in all our relationships.

Teachers Federation Health must comply with its contractual, statutory and legal obligations such as the Private Health Insurance Act 2007 (Cwlth.); Privacy Act 1998 and Corporations Act 2001 (Cwlth.). Legal compliance is a responsibility that covers the operations and relationship between Teachers Federation Health and its stakeholders and the broader community.

The Private Health Insurance Act 2007 (Cwlth.) details compliance requirements for Private Health Insurance entities including capital adequacy requirements, registration, complying products, reporting and responsibilities to consumers. Under section 96-5 of the Act, a health insurer is required to provide SIS's upon request, too all policy holders annually and with new policies.

Please contact Teachers Federation Health if you would like a copy of a Standard Information Statement for any of our products sent to you. We also have a booklet containing in-depth information about policy detail and the broader health system.

The Corporations Act 2001(Cwlth) regulates matters such as the formation and operation of companies (in conjunction with a constitution that may be adopted by a company), duties of officers, takeovers and fundraising.

In addition to the legal rights of the consumer under law, Teachers Federation Health is a signatory to the Code or Conduct. The Code is designed to sit beside the current Government Acts and regulations within which the industry operates and underlines the intent of the industry to show its commitment to consumers.
