    Alzheimer's Australia NSW is the peak body representing the interests of people affected by dementia in New South Wales.
    We provide leadership in policy and services, encourage and participate in research initiatives and aim to extend the knowledge and skills of others working with people with dementia, their families and carers.
    Our state-wide specialised, responsive and innovative services provide:

    Shaye has a background in Pharmacology. Prior to working with Alzheimer's Australia NSW she spent much of her time working for a large pharmaceutical company who specialise in pain management. Shaye is now one of the educators for AANSW.

    It is not yet known how you can prevent or cure dementia, but there is a lot you can do to keep your brain healthier as you age. Alzheimer's Australia's Mind your Mind program has seven signposts that may reduce your risk of developing dementia. The aims of this program are to provide the audience with an understanding of:

    • How normal memory works

    • Common memory changes that may occur with ageing

    • Some factors that can affect memory

    • Some medical conditions that can affect memory

    • The seven steps to potentially reduce the risk of dementia

     • Some memory changes that could be linked to dementia

     • How to get help if you are worried about your memory
