Cate is a fully qualified speech pathologist, voice specialist and university lecturer and researcher. She has an established private practice in Sydney specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders in adults and children, voice technique for professional voice users including actors, singers and teachers. She has worked with teachers from all sectors of education and runs regular information and voice training workshops. She originally trained as an actor at Flinders University of South Australia and worked as a voice coach in Sydney before undertaking her degree in Speech Pathology.

This 1hr presentation will provide essential information about how the voice works and what you can do to ensure you maintain good vocal health and achieve the best performance with your vocal ‘instrument’. Important vocal hygiene tips and strategies to avoid vocal problems will also be discussed. Demonstration of simple voice techniques to aid healthy and safe vocal use will be provided.
