Presenters Bio Founded in 2000, the IIPM exists to promote the therapeutic treatment and prevention of a range of disorders and dysfunctions which affect the health of humans. The IIPM seeks to be a peak body in the safe, ethical and efficient delivery of psychosomatic medicine.
Brian Magrath is a Director of the Institute, which is owned by around 40 members, who are people understanding and valuing the work. Brian Magrath has been involved in psychosomatic therapies for about 50 years.
“A new idea is first condemned as ridiculous and then dismissed as trivial, until finally, it becomes what everybody knows.” – William James
As with many ideas that are sought by the seekers of progress, when Brian Magrath introduced his work in 1962, the theory of “The Three-legged Chair”, it was largely misunderstood.
There were no pre-existing systems, therapies or paradigms into which his work could be neatly categorised.
As a result, in the beginning, many tried to attach familiar and simple labels to his work – labels that in and of themselves often cast Brian and his work in inaccurate terms. The most odd description was “….there is no market for personal philosophies…”
But now, many have used the ideas, and found them neat and workable, above all else, simple. Hence, successful.
Safe, efficient and economic.
The outcomes of the work have clearly demonstrated its efficacy and potential.
In his practices in Menai and Narellan medical centres, South of Sydney, people are continually gaining a far wider and more concise control over their lives and health, both mental and physical.
Now, in 2007, around the globe, eminent studies are being handed down which demonstrate a proof of the hypotheses and theories held so long in disbelief.
In 2006, Brian delivered his therapies and ideologies into the IIPM, so that they may gain a far wider audience in due course.
Brian has published works on tobacco smoking; Parkinson’s Disease; The Pervasive Refusal Syndrome; and has introduced the theoretical “Uncertain Personality Syndrome”.
Working with the IIPM, Brian is developing the concept of the Seehealth® Groups, which are devoted to improving and maintaining the health of members.
