Bronwyn Penny is an Exercise Physiologist with Diabetes Australia-NSW and member of AAESS. Since graduation, Bronwyn’s has been working in the fields of chronic disease prevention and management with a specific focus on diabetes. Through Diabetes Australia-NSW, Bronwyn has been involved in a variety of health promotion initiatives and promotions targeting lifestyle change and chronic disease prevention, is responsible for the facilitation of the Vietnam Veteran’s Heart Health program, and is a frequent contributor to national and state wide publications. Bronwyn’s main areas of interest include physical activity, lifestyle and behaviour change for the prevention, treatment and management of chronic diseases.

• Rationale for why individuals need to be pro-active about their health. • Emphasises the value of good health and well being. • Outlines common lifestyle diseases in the community such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, arthritis and their risk factors. • Provides first step advice on how individuals can prevent or delay lifestyle diseases, encouraging staff to take control of their own health. • Provides tips on reducing the risks including healthy, active lifestyle tips. • Benefits of exercise and physical activity on physical and emotional health • Tips on how to get moving
