- Presenters Bio Cecilia Pemberton is a qualified speech pathologist and an experienced specialist voice clinician. She has been treating clients with a variety of voice problems for 30 years including teachers, actors, singers, politicians, barristers, judges, fitness instructors and auctioneers. Cecilia has worked in both private practice and public hospitals in Victoria, NSW, South Australia and the UK. Cecilia is co author of the Voice Care for Teachers DVD which has been designed to provide information to teachers on how to look after their voices and help prevent voice problems from occurring.
- Session Outline Teachers rely on their voices as essential tools of their profession. Inefficient voice use can lead to long-term voice problems if not addressed early. Very few teachers have had specific training in how to care for their voice, or how to use their voice efficiently, and they feel unprepared to deal with signs and symptoms of voice problems when they arise. The Voice Care for Teachers DVD has been designed to provide teachers with the information they need to look after their voices and help prevent voice problems. This session will present the DVD and information on voice care.
